(Baonghean.vn) - Two subjects, Cha A Dia and Mua A Co, both residing in Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province, were arrested by Nghe An police while illegally transporting drugs from the border area to the interior, and 5 kg of crystal meth was seized.

Through professional work, recently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Nghe An Police discovered a ring of illegal drug trafficking and transportation from Laos to Nghe An and then to the northern provinces for consumption with sophisticated and cunning tricks.

During the criminal activities, the subjects in the ring often communicated with each other via mobile phone applications and frequently changed means of transportation to avoid detection. After receiving drugs from the border area for transportation and consumption, the subjects hid them among clothes in their luggage and left them in the trunk of the car.

Under the direction of the provincial police, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department has established a special project to focus on the fight. On September 13, during the process of grasping the situation, the Special Project Board determined that a number of Mong ethnic people would receive a large quantity of drugs from the border area of ​​Ky Son district and move to Vinh city in the direction of National Highway 7.

At around 9:30 p.m. the same day, the Special Task Force coordinated with relevant units to crack the case, arresting two subjects, Cha A Dia (born in 1985) and Mua A Co (born in 1989), both residing in Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province, for the act of "Illegal transportation of drugs", seizing 5 kg of crystal meth. The above drugs were hidden by the two subjects in a suitcase sent on a passenger bus.

At the investigation agency, both subjects initially denied the crime, not admitting that the suitcase was theirs. However, after many hours of continuous struggle, the two subjects were forced to confess their crimes.

Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Nghe An Police is consolidating documents to handle according to the provisions of law and continuing to expand the investigation.
