The new cave search by the British Royal Cave Expedition in Phong Nha - Ke Bang has yielded satisfactory results: the expedition has surveyed many beautiful caves, including Son Doong Cave, which is considered the largest in the world.

On the afternoon of April 22, Mr. Howard Limbirt, on behalf of the British Royal Cave Expedition, reported the results of the group's cave search from April 10-14 in the limestone mountain system of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Bo Trach, Quang Ninh and Minh Hoa districts to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province.

According to this report, the expedition discovered 20 new caves with a total length of 56 km, of which Son Doong Cave is considered the largest cave in the world today.

According to Mr. Limbirt, Son Doong Cave is 150 m high, 140 m wide and more than 5 km long, 5 times larger than Phong Nha Cave. Due to flooding and strong underground currents in the cave, the expedition team has only been able to survey a part of it.

This is considered the largest cave in the world, larger than Deer Cave in Malaysia - which is considered the largest in the world with a height of 100 m, a width of 90 m and a length of more than 2 km.

Son Doong Cave is about 10 km from the western branch of Ho Chi Minh Road, in the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. This cave was discovered by a local before but has not been surveyed.
