Discovered more than 1 ton of fake Omo brand washing powder in Dien Chau

(Baonghean.vn) - The Economic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has just discovered a facility producing fake Momo laundry detergent in large quantities in Dien Chau district.

Implementing the plan to attack and suppress crimes before, during and after Tet, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police deployed a strong force to suppress all types of economic crimes in the whole province. Through professional work, the Economic Police force discovered in Dien Van and Dien Kim communes, Dien Chau district, a number of subjects with many suspicious signs of producing fake and poor quality goods.

At 3:00 p.m. on December 22, 2013, the Economic Police Department inspected, discovered, and arrested at the house of Mr. Ngo Tri Oanh, born in 1971, and his wife, Mrs. Vu Thi Van, born in 1975, residing in Tien Tien hamlet, Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau district, for the act of producing fake washing powder branded as Omo.

Through the search, more than 1,000 400g Omo packages, more than 19kg of unused Omo brand packaging, 1 packaging sealing machine, 25 bags of Yes detergent powder produced by Lix Detergent Joint Stock Company in Ho Chi Minh City, the total weight of the seizure was more than 1 ton of detergent powder. Through the initial struggle, Oanh Van and her husband admitted to the crime and confessed that they bought cheap detergent powder to put in Omo detergent powder bags to sell on the market for profit.

Upon receiving the information, a delegation of Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited came to take samples to analyze and determine the quality of the above detergent powder.

The case is currently being investigated by the authorities to be handled according to the law.
