More than 500 student cards discovered at pawnshops in Vinh City

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 25, Vinh University held a conference on student management, security and order at boarding and non-boarding schools for the 2016-2017 school year.

Vinh University currently has more than 22,000 students studying at two campuses in Ben Thuy Ward, Truong Thi and Nghi An Commune, Vinh City. In recent years, in order to effectively manage students and ensure security and order, the school has simultaneously organized many solutions and organized 100% of students to sign a commitment to comply with the school's rules and regulations. The school was also selected by Nghe An Provincial Police to build a model for student self-management in training according to the credit system.

At the conference, representatives of Department PA 83 - Nghe An Provincial Police, Vinh City Police also pointed out the difficulties and shortcomings in the current management of students, especially the situation where some students are being lured by reactionary organizations, affecting the ideology and social security and order.

According to statistics from Vinh City Police, last year, the city had 36 violations of the law involving 49 students, most of which were related to drugs, fraud and intentional injury. Through inspections of pawnshops, the city police also discovered 500 university student cards used as collateral for loans.

From the above situations, in the coming time, the management of student affairs, security and order will continue to focus on propaganda, education, orientation on political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, life skills and raising awareness for students. At the same time, promote cultural, artistic and sports activities in schools to guide students to healthy and useful activities.
