Ukrainian armed forces' plan to attack Russian cities uncovered
The command of the Ukrainian armed forces once planned to attack the two Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog, the commander of a Russian military unit codenamed "Sanych" recounted.
He said that at abandoned Ukrainian positions near Avdeevka, notes related to this plan were found on maps dated at least six months ago.
The officer showed Sputnik reporters these maps and filmed some parts of them.
The maps are clearly printed in the Soviet style, on which Soviet place names are clearly visible, for example, the city of Mariupol is also called Zhdanov. At the same time, above the place names are marked the positions of the Ukrainian and Russian troops during the special operation.

"The markers show: Rostov-on-Don, markers, routes, Donetsk, Lugansk People's Republic, and Kharkov - markings in our direction and in the opposite direction. That is the direction of movement of either equipment, or troops and vehicles of the enemy, both in our direction and in the opposite direction. From this it is possible to determine the direction of movement of forces and vehicles. One of these directions is Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog. Maybe that is where they are planning or wanted to (capture)," the commander said.
According to Sanych, these maps were handed over to the competent authorities, where after studying them, experts concluded that the markings on the maps were inserted at least from July 2022.
There are several "+6°" marks on the maps which the officer interpreted as a sign that the data had been edited to correct the discrepancies between the old maps and the current accurate geographic information.
"In this case, it is probably a mark indicating coordinates and adding degrees in the direction, because these are old maps, while the information marked on them was added not so long ago. Maybe it is an adjustment that they marked to make notes for themselves on the map... It is also possible that it is a mark indicating the direction of movement to navigate on their maps along the route," the news agency's interlocutor added.
