Discovered a 7.5 kg carnivorous bird species in the Da River lake

This is a carnivorous bird weighing 7.5 kg, with a wingspan of 2.8 m, height of 0.5 m, and body length of 0.7 m.

The family of Mr. La Van Lien, 62 years old, in Long Dan village (by the Da River lake) in Chieng Bang commune, Quynh Nhai district, Son La province, has just caught a strange bird that flew down from the mountain.

According to the elders in the village, this was the first time they had seen this bird. Some people said it resembled an owl, locally called Tô Lăm Khâu. Every day the bird ate 1.5 kg of meat but was still hungry so they had to feed it vegetables.

Seeing the strange bird appear, the local people came to see it more and more every day. A local ranger said that this could be a species of vulture which is not yet found in the “Red Book” of animal species in the Northwest of Vietnam./.
