A woman's body was found on the N2 canal.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 29, some people were washing clothes on the N2 canal, the section flowing through Vinh Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) and were shocked to discover the body of a woman floating on the canal.

Mr. Bui Van Son - Deputy Police Chief of Vinh Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh District) said that at around 6:30 am on September 29, residents of Hamlet 9, Vinh Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh District) were doing laundry on the N2 Canal when they discovered a female body floating in the middle of the canal. The incident was quickly reported to the local authorities and Vinh Thanh Commune Police.

Immediately afterwards, the victim was identified as Ms. Bui Thi T. (born in 1971, residing in hamlet 9, Vinh Thanh commune).

Mr. Nguyen Huu Linh (born in 1968, Ms. T.'s husband) said that at 4:00 a.m. on August 28, Ms. T. woke up and prepared things for Mr. Linh to go work as a hired sand digger. However, at noon that day, when Mr. Linh returned and did not see his wife, he panicked and went looking for her.

After a day of fruitless searching, this morning Mr. Linh received the bad news. According to the victim's family, Ms. T. had been suffering from leukemia for two years. Ms. T. had attempted suicide by jumping into the canal many times but was discovered and saved by local people.

It is known that Ms. T's family has 3 children, and their family circumstances are among the most difficult in Vinh Thanh commune.

The local government and Vinh Thanh commune police handed over Ms. T's body to her family for burial and visited and encouraged the family.
