Detected smuggling of 20kg of suspected gold by air
The Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch (Hanoi Customs Department) said that on the evening of August 25, this unit coordinated with the Economic Police force of Hanoi City Police to detect and arrest a case of smuggling more than 20kg of metal suspected to be gold by air into Hanoi.
According to initial information, the incident was discovered at around 19:45 on August 25 on flight TG 564 from Bangkok (Thailand) to Noi Bai International Airport.

Through the supervision and inspection of goods, the anti-smuggling force of Noi Bai Customs and the Police force of the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Economic Management and Positions (PC46) of Hanoi City Police discovered suspicions from 5 Vietnamese passengers.
During the inspection, the two forces discovered a large amount of metal suspected to be gold jewelry hidden by the group around their bodies, thighs and calves.
The leader of the Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch said that the group of subjects hid the metal suspected to be gold around their bodies, thighs and calves, which was a new smuggling method. The total amount of gold weighed about 20kg.
Immediately afterwards, the group of suspects and all the evidence were arrested. The police are currently investigating the case./.
