(Baonghean) -Thanks to increased inspection and handling, in the first 6 months of 2011, Nghe An market management force detected and handled 1,374 cases of transporting, trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods and commercial fraud with a total fine of nearly 3.5 billion VND.
A typical case is the discovery and seizure of a shipment of modern medicine worth over 1 billion VND, seized by Market Management Team No. 3 on National Highway 1A in Nghi Loc district. Driver Nguyen Van Vinh, from Nang Tinh ward - Nam Dinh city, transported 5 boxes of modern medicine on a truck with license plate 18N - 1990. The entire shipment included 791 bottles of Ofloxaxin antibiotics, 790 bottles of Xicroxaxin and 2950 tubes of Vontaren injections. When discovered and inspected, the driver could not present documents proving the origin of the shipment. In addition, the packaging of the above medicine packages did not have Vietnamese labels or import stamps. Through inspection by the health sector, these were drugs of unknown origin and not yet permitted for circulation. The entire case file has been transferred to the police agency for investigation and handling according to the law.
Also during this time, Market Management Team No. 3 also seized 1,200 helmets identified as counterfeit, poor quality goods, transported by a seller from the south for sale.
