Detected and handled 2,633 cases of forestry law violations

Implementing the recommendations of the Legal Department, the Forest Protection Department has developed a plan, clearly defining the key content and roadmap for resolving the recommendations. Propaganda work on legal documents on forest protection as well as handling violations in this field has been enhanced.

Forest protection coordination work has been expanded. In addition to the forces and sectors in the province, the Provincial Forest Protection Department has also developed a new forest protection coordination regulation with Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa provinces and border provinces of Laos with adjacent forests to strengthen local forest rangers, thereby actively advising the commune authorities on forest protection...

Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ho Ngoc Sy affirmed that the recommendations and proposals of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee were received and directed to be seriously resolved by the industry.

In particular, the Forest Protection Department has taken many measures to overcome shortcomings in administrative handling of violations of forest management, protection and forest product management in accordance with legal procedures and regulations, within the right authority and within the right time limit. Specifically, from 2013 to present, the whole province has detected and handled 2,633 cases of law violations in forest management, protection and forest fire prevention, of which 8 cases were criminally prosecuted. The budget collected nearly 41 billion VND, of which over 14.7 billion VND was administrative handling fee and 26 billion VND was cash for forest products and confiscated vehicles.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Forest Protection Department Tran Ngoc Chinh explained a number of issues of concern to the Provincial People's Council delegation.

The provincial Forest Protection Department has also directed units to strengthen investigation and verification of ownerless cases for handling. Thanks to that, the number of ownerless violations has decreased by 5% compared to 2012. Typically, at Con Cuong Forest Protection Department, it decreased by 33%; Phu Huong decreased by 17%; Mobile Forest Protection Team No. 1 and No. 2 decreased by 13-14%...

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee requested the Department to continue implementing the recommendations and proposals of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, creating more efficiency in forest protection work.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee highly appreciated the reception and implementation of the Legal Committee's recommendations and proposals in the field of forest protection and forest fire prevention. He requested the forces to coordinate with localities to focus on propaganda work to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors and people in forest protection at the root.
