Reporter:Among the many achievements in 2017, in your opinion, which field is the most outstanding?
Comrade Dang Thanh Tung:In 2017, the Party Committee and people of Anh Son district achieved many results, including 24/28 socio-economic targets achieved and exceeded the plan. Total production value is estimated at 4,455 billion VND, reaching 100.17%, up 12.77% compared to 2016. Growth rate is 10.13%. Total mobilized social investment capital is 943.4 billion VND. Average income is 25.5 million VND/person/year.

Investment promotion activities were focused on, organizing many meetings with investors inside and outside the district to call for investment. In 2017, a number of projects with large investment capital were approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment in the area such as: MDF fiberboard production project; high-tech pig breeding production project; investment project for high-tech livestock science research center; Cam Son Hydropower Project...
Education and training continued to be taken care of, achieving many high achievements. In the 2016-2017 school year, the results of the provincial excellent student exam ranked 2nd in the province. The total number of schools "meeting national standards" is 43 schools, the rate of schools meeting national standards is 65.15%. The district hospital has developed difficult techniques with high requirements such as: Endoscopic thyroid surgery, Endoscopic surgery, Retrograde laser ureteral lithotripsy... There are 4 communes that have completed the procedures to request the province to recognize them as meeting national standards in health (Dinh Son, Hoa Son, Tao Son, Linh Son).
During the year, the district created new jobs for 2,700 people, reaching 114.89% of the plan. Of which: 1,450 domestic workers, 1,250 exported workers. The poverty rate decreased to 7.91% (down 2.8% compared to 2016); 5,690 poor households, policy families, and children in difficult circumstances received gifts with a total value of more than 3.7 billion VND, in addition to many other material gifts. The rate of people participating in health insurance reached 83%.
The forces and the political system maintain a good combat readiness plan, completing the plan to build ATLC - SSCĐ facilities in 2017 for communes and towns. Coordinate with the forces to grasp the border situation, implement professional measures to maintain the situation, and prevent complicated incidents from occurring. Proactively coordinate with the base to promptly detect outstanding issues, ensuring absolute safety for key targets, political, cultural and social activities.
Reporter:With many projects attracting investment in the area, what role does that play in the district's socio-economic development in the short and long term, sir?
Comrade Dang Thanh Tung:Identifying investment attraction as one of the important tasks contributing to socio-economic development, changing the face of Anh Son homeland, in recent times, the district has created favorable conditions for investors in site clearance, in handling administrative procedures... In addition, improving the capacity of staff of specialized departments and offices, strengthening coordination in planning construction and management, promoting administrative reform, supporting and creating a favorable environment for capable investors to implement projects, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development.

The leaders of Anh Son district have taken advantage of all forums to call for investment. Since then, many large projects have been attracted in the area such as: MDF wood production project in Tri Le Industrial Park, Khai Son commune with a total investment of 1,754 billion VND; Trade center project, general service business in Anh Son town with a total investment of 20 billion VND; Kim Nhan PLAZA conference, sports and tourism center project in Anh Son town with a total investment of 61 billion VND; Investment project of High-tech livestock science research center in Hung Son commune of MAVIN Austfeed Group Joint Stock Company with a total investment of 350 billion VND; Cam Son Hydropower project with an investment of more than 1,000 billion VND.
Investment promotion activities in the district in recent years have achieved initial positive results, thereby promoting structural transformation and socio-economic development, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and improving people's lives. Especially creating momentum for development in the coming years.

In particular, it pays attention to annual targets such as: Growth rate, social stability, attention to implementing hunger eradication, poverty reduction, social security, especially in poor communes and disadvantaged areas...
To fully exploit the existing potential advantages, Anh Son district focuses on choosing a breakthrough, vigorously developing investment attraction projects in the area, especially strongly attracting investment in the fields of agriculture and processing industry to develop the district's key products. At the same time, promoting the application of science and technology in agricultural production to increase productivity and value; developing agriculture in the direction of clean goods, forming more specialized raw material growing areas, ensuring raw materials for processing and exporting products such as tea, cassava starch, wood materials, etc. Accelerating the construction of new rural areas, sustainably developing communes that have met the standards. Strengthening dialogue with the people, thereby grasping the thoughts and aspirations of the people, together solving difficulties arising from the grassroots to stabilize society to take care of economic development.
