(Baonghean.vn) - On May 28th, a provincial delegation led by Comrade Ho Duc Phoc – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – worked with the District Party Committee and the District Government of Con Cuong district and visited economic models and new rural development projects in Yen Khe commune.

Accompanying the delegation were Comrade Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, heads of the Provincial Party Committee's departments, the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; leaders of the departments and agencies: Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Interior, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial Military Command and Border Guard.

In 2013, Con Cuong district achieved or exceeded targets in 17 out of 20 indicators. Economic growth reached over 7.6%. Total food production exceeded 29,000 tons. Local budget revenue reached nearly 16 billion VND; the district created jobs for 1,000 workers.The average per capita income of the district reached 15.5 million VND; the poverty rate decreased from 37.83% to 36.53% by the end of 2013. National defense and security were maintained. Regarding Party building work, 64% of grassroots Party organizations in Con Cuong district achieved the "Strong and Excellent" rating, with no weak grassroots Party organizations.

Comrade Vi Xuan Giap, Secretary of the Con Cuong District Party Committee, reported on the situation to the working group.

However, in recent times, Con Cuong has also revealed some shortcomings and limitations: The implementation of crop restructuring is slow, and crop yields remain low. Economic development models are few and have not been widely replicated. The work of building model communes in terms of health and cultural institutions has not met the plan; and there has been a delay in resolving obstacles related to the resettlement project for the Dan Lai ethnic group...

During the meeting, Con Cuong district requested the province to allow it to continue implementing the detailed plan for establishing Con Cuong town; requested the province to allocate funds to accelerate the progress of unfinished construction projects so that they can be put into use soon; and requested approval for the district to develop several projects for the production of tea, oranges, and raw material forests.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc delivered the concluding remarks at the working session.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged the achievements that Con Cuong has made in various fields in the past period. Regarding future tasks, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that the district introduce high-economic-value plant and animal varieties into production; develop the forestry industry in conjunction with commodity production; find solutions to maximize the potential of ecotourism; focus on vocational training and job creation; and leverage social resources to improve people's lives and accelerate poverty reduction.Reviewing the targets set by the Party Congress, solutions are being sought to achieve those that have not yet been met. The Provincial Party Secretary requested that cadres and civil servants improve their public service ethics, effectively implement Directive 17 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and strengthen administrative reform. Regarding Party building, the district needs to promote the building of national unity, strengthen the political system, and continue to effectively implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee.

Earlier, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc and the delegation visited Yen Khe commune. There, the Provincial Party Secretary visited a model of new rural development, presented gifts to the village and 10 poor households in To village; and visited a model of orange cultivation in Pha village.
