Promoting the intellectual potential of Nghe people

The meeting is a tribute and recognition by the Party Committee and people of Nghe An for the intellectuals and artists of the province who are living and working in their homeland and across the country. This is also one of the concrete manifestations of the innovation in thinking of the provincial leaders in the strategy of promoting the potential of Nghe An people. Meetings with businessmen and investors held annually in Nghe An, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City have opened up investment attraction policies, bringing great economic values to the province. The recent meeting with Nghe An generals was a reunion to express gratitude to those who made great contributions to the two great resistance wars of the nation in ensuring national defense and security for the country to be stable and developed as it is today. The meeting of intellectuals and artists of Nghe An opens up a new prospect in exploiting and promoting the potential of the intellectuals of Nghe An.
Nghe An is the land of learning, the revolutionary homeland of the whole country. Nghe An intellectuals in every period have been famous for their tradition of studiousness and patriotism. The history of building and defending the country of our nation over thousands of years has recorded the great contributions of Nghe An intellectuals, including national heroes and cultural celebrities.
During the Ho Chi Minh era, Nghe intellectuals shone with their talent and intelligence to serve the Fatherland and the people; in every field, there were Nghe intellectuals who were leading experts with famous names in the country and the world. In the period of opening and integration, Nghe intellectuals were present throughout the country, making great contributions to the cause of innovation in many fields. With profound scientific thinking, combined with dynamism and creativity in practical activities, many Nghe intellectuals became good leaders, managers, and specialists. Nghe intellectuals are not only famous scientists but also excellent economists and diplomats. Whether they are leaders, managers, scientists, artists, teachers, doctors, etc., Nghe intellectuals all have a common sentiment of always turning towards their homeland, yearning for their homeland to become a rich and powerful province. In this touching and warm meeting, despite the absence of great Nghe intellectuals who have passed away, their glorious careers are being worthily continued by today's generation of Nghe intellectuals.
The awards and noble titles that the Party and State have recognized the great contributions of 574 outstanding intellectuals and artists from Nghe An are the pride of the Party Committee and the people of Nghe An. That pride gives us something to think about in exploiting and promoting the potential of the Nghe An intellectuals. Among the intellectuals and artists from Nghe An who have been awarded with awards and noble titles from the State, the majority still work outside the province, which really makes us wonder. Is it possible that Nghe An does not have a favorable environment for intellectuals and artists to develop their talents? Is it possible that Nghe An's talent attraction policy has not achieved the desired results? After more than a decade of implementing the policy of attracting talented people, Nghe An has only attracted 145 people, including 2 PhDs, 18 masters, 30 excellent university graduates, and the rest are fair. Highly qualified people such as professors, associate professors, artisans, and national artists have not volunteered to return to their hometowns to work.
Since 1999, Nghe An has issued and adjusted the policy to attract talents three times, but there are still many shortcomings. This is really a concern of the Party Committee and people of Nghe An. From that concern, there must be innovations in the policy of using and attracting talents of the province. It is necessary to build a system of synchronous mechanisms and policies to maximize the talent and intelligence of the intellectuals and artists working in and outside the province. Attracting talents is not only through deep affection for the homeland but also through specific mechanisms and policies to create the best conditions for the intellectuals and artists to promote their talents and contribute to the cause of building the homeland.
“Talents are the vital energy of the nation, when the vital energy is prosperous, the country will be strong and prosperous…” (Than Nhan Trung), these immortal words of our ancestors still remind us a lot about educating talents, valuing talents to cultivate the vital energy of the homeland and country today and tomorrow. Nghe An is a province rich in potential, in which people are the greatest potential. When the potential of the intellectuals and artists is promoted, the potential of Nghe An people will be multiplied many times. That is the hope and expectation from this meaningful meeting.
