Promoting heroic traditions, building a strong and comprehensive Military Region 4

Reporter:Major General, can you tell us about the glorious tradition of the armed forces of Military Region 4 during the two sacred resistance wars of the nation?

Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong:On October 15, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree to establish Military Zone 4 including the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, becoming the traditional day of the heroic armed forces of Military Zone 4.

The Ministry of National Defense and the armed forces of the Military Region always uphold the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" standing side by side with the people to create heroic feats, going down in national history with brilliant feats of arms.

During the nine years of protracted resistance against the French colonialists, the army and people of Zone 4 successfully completed all their tasks. They completed the construction of three types of troops, both proactively fighting the enemy in the Military Zone and effectively coordinating in the general offensive of the whole country.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Zone 4 was the front line against the US in the North, the rear base of the South, simultaneously carrying out 4 missions on 3 battlefields.

Through two glorious wars of resistance of the nation, Military Region 4 has become a shining symbol of the indomitable will to fight against foreign invaders. Excellently completing domestic and international missions, contributing to bringing our country into the era of national independence associated with socialism.

Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong:The military and people of Zone 4 embarked on the task of overcoming the consequences of war. Faced with new requirements, the armed forces of the Military Zone directly participated in the fight to protect the Fatherland at the southwestern and northern borders. For the Lao revolution, the Military Region continued to help the Lao people build political bases and build armed forces. The forces of Military Region 4 helped the Lao people win the national liberation revolution as well as in the later period.

Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong:Carrying forward the glorious tradition of 70 years of building, fighting and growing, in the coming time, the armed forces of Military Region 4 will continue to focus all efforts on building a strong and comprehensive Military Region. Continue to thoroughly grasp and well implement the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, and the new situation and tasks of the revolution.

Focus on doing a good job of national defense education for cadres and people, creating consensus in society for the task of protecting the Fatherland. Closely combine socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security.

Improve training quality, close to combat practice. Regularly educate to improve political and ideological awareness. Focus on building clean and strong party committees and cells, associated with building strong and comprehensive agencies and units.
