Promoting the tradition of the Court sector, building the friendship between Vietnam and Laos

On the evening of September 14, in Vinh City, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Court of Vietnam (September 13, 1945 - September 13, 2019), the Supreme People's Court held a ceremony to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Court of Vietnam and an art exchange program between the People's Courts of Vietnam and Laos.

Attending the Ceremony, on behalf of the Lao People's Court, there were comrades: Khampha Sengdara - Chief Justice; Kham Phan Bun Pha Khom - Deputy Chief Justice; leaders of the People's Courts at all levels.

On the side of the People's Court of Vietnam, there were comrades: Nguyen Hoa Binh - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court;Bui Ngoc Hoa - Supreme People's Court Judge, Deputy Chief Justices of the Supreme People's Court

On the side of Military Region 4 and Nghe An province, there were comrades: Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh - Deputy Secretary, Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Tran Vo Dung - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4; Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police. Speaking at the exchange night, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hien - Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court reviewed the 74-year tradition of operation and contributions of the Court sector throughout the length of protecting and building the country.

It emphasizes that, through different stages of development, no matter where, under any circumstances, from the fierce and arduous years of resistance to the years of peace building and national renewal and development, generations of cadres, civil servants and workers of the People's Court at all levels have always been absolutely loyal to the noble revolutionary ideals that the Party, Uncle Ho and our people have chosen.

The Judiciary always strives to excellently fulfill the important responsibilities assigned to it; wholeheartedly serves the people; makes great efforts, overcomes all difficulties, and is worthy of being an agency that protects justice, a sharp tool of the State to severely punish counter-revolutionaries, effectively prevent acts that harm the interests of the Party, the State and the people; satisfactorily resolves conflicts and disputes among the people, thereby contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety.

The Court sector has actively participated in building the legal system and perfecting institutions in the process of building a socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam, including proposing many contents on innovating the organizational model, functions and tasks of the People's Court in the spirit of judicial reform in the process of amending the Constitution and building the Law on Organization of the People's Court in 2014; the team of judges, officials and civil servants of the Courts at all levels has been supplemented in quantity and increasingly improved in quality; the material facilities and working means of the Courts have continued to be strengthened; the international cooperation of the Courts has been constantly expanded.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Khampha Sengdara, Chief Justice of the Lao People's Court, expressed his joy and honor to participate in the celebration activities and friendly exchanges with the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam and relevant authorities and agencies.

During the 74 years under the leadership of Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam, brilliant milestones have been created, turning Vietnam into an independent, free and increasingly developing country; creating opportunities for the people of Lao ethnic groups to rise up to liberate the nation.

The two countries have always nurtured and built a special friendship as generations of leaders of the two Parties and States have built and preserved. Comrade Khampha Sengdara expressed his respect and pride, remembering the support of the People's Court of Vietnam in the past, and affirmed that the Lao Court will always trust and make efforts to contribute to the everlasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

To celebrate the traditional day of the Court sector, the staff of the Court sector of Vietnam and Laos performed art performances praising the leaders and the steadfast friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos "higher than mountains, longer than rivers, wider than seas".
