Promoting the role of women in reforming people who have made mistakes

(Baonghean.vn) -That is the proposal of comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the Conference summarizing 5 years of implementing the Joint Resolution (NQLT)01 between the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Women's Union on Management and education of family members not to commit crimes and social evils organized by the Provincial Police and the Provincial Women's Union.

After 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 01, through campaigns and club models at all levels of the association, the police force has coordinated with all levels of the women's association to organize 1,650 propaganda campaigns, launching the movement of the whole people to protect national security, prevent crimes and social evils for 452 women's association officials and members.

Women's associations at all levels have also coordinated with the police to successfully implement nearly 5,000 effective models, such as: "Management and education of family members not to commit crimes and social evils" club in Thanh Huong commune (Thanh Chuong); "Supporting the community to prevent and combat human trafficking" in Hanh Dich commune (Que Phong), Yen Hoa (Tuong Duong)... Thereby, contributing to the in-depth implementation of the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean" in the whole province and fighting and preventing crimes and social evils.

In their speeches at the conference, delegates shared many good and effective ways of doing things, focusing on the role of women in the family. For example, in the education and rehabilitation of newly released prisoners and people with HIV, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao - Head of the "Kindness of Arms" Club in Binh Hanh hamlet (Nghia Binh, Nghia Dan) said: "People with HIV and newly released prisoners are very sensitive, often have an inferiority complex, so they tend to stay away from people. Therefore, wives and mothers must be close to them, encourage them... and create a feeling of sharing."

Or, as for reforming people with social evils, including drug addiction, according to Mr. Quang Van Mao - Chief of Tam Quang Commune Police (Tuong Duong): "In addition to the close management of the local government, mothers and wives must observe the expressions, grasp the thoughts and wishes of their husbands and children and advise and analyze the harmful effects and consequences of drug use on the family economy and their own health...".

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Xuan Dai highly appreciated the results in 5 years of implementing Resolution 01 between the Public Security sector and the Women's Union at all levels. Many advanced models and examples in the movement to protect national security have been formed, directly affecting the awareness of women members towards the work of maintaining security and order in the integration period; at the same time, contributing greatly to the solidification of the political system at the grassroots level, significantly affecting the economic development in the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the coming time, the Public Security sector and the Women's Union need to focus on building and expanding models of child care, management, and education, models of women participating in maintaining security and order, and promoting the movement of the entire people to protect national security, associated with building cultural families and cultural residential areas in a broad and qualitative direction.

Regarding the role of women in managing and educating family members not to commit crimes and social evils, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the Steering Committee for implementing Resolution 01 should disseminate to women's associations at all levels how to recognize and the consequences that may arise if family members show signs of committing crimes and social evils.

“When relatives commit crimes and social evils, women will be the ones who suffer the most, and the consequences will be the most severe. Meanwhile, women's personalities are flexible and easily move people's hearts, so analyzing right and wrong will be more effective,” said comrade Le Xuan Dai.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded 10 Certificates of Merit, and the Provincial Police Director awarded 30 Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 5 years of implementing Joint Resolution 01.
