(Baonghean)Currently, the province has 15 female associate professors and 29 female PhD holders working at universities and colleges. They have made significant contributions to the field of education, especially in scientific research, and have excelled in the "good at work, good at home" movement. However, for this group to further enhance their role, they need the attention of all levels and sectors.

For over 20 years, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan has been a lecturer in the Political Science Department at Nghe An College of Economics and Technology. She has participated in the provincial excellent teacher competition three times and won high awards. In 2003, she won second prize in the national excellent teacher competition. She was invited by the Ministry of Education to give a model lecture at the Conference on Innovation in Teaching Methods for Political Science in schools in the South and North. She has received two commendations from the Ministry of Education and numerous certificates of merit and commendations from the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training. In 2008, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in political science. Currently, she is preparing to publish a book with the National Political Publishing House and is leading a provincial-level research project titled "Research and Proposal of Solutions to Improve the Quality of Social Monitoring and Criticism Activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at the provincial level in Nghe An." In her roles as a manager, a researcher, and a homemaker, she has had to make tremendous efforts to excel in her responsibilities. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan shared: "As a woman in management, especially in scientific research, the difficulties are multiplied many times over. Producing a valuable scientific research project requires a significant investment of time and effort. Therefore, it is essential to have the attention of the university, support from higher levels, and sharing from the family..."

At Vinh University, despite the heavy teaching workload, female staff and lecturers are very active in participating in scientific research. In recent years, there have been 10 ministerial-level scientific research projects, many with provincial-level projects and research papers published in prestigious specialized journals; 15 women hold positions from deputy head of department upwards, and 2 are members of the Party Committee...

The team of female intellectuals at Vinh University of Technology and Education comprises 69 women, including one who holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; four who hold the position of Deputy Head of Department; 59 with Master's degrees; two with PhDs; and three currently pursuing doctoral studies... Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong, Vice Rector of the university, stated: "According to the university's regulations, the criteria for appointing management positions require a degree. Pursuing postgraduate studies is indeed a challenge for women in terms of time, effort, finances, and especially managing family affairs..."

Although the Party and State have implemented many policies and guidelines on gender equality in all fields over the years, for women, especially female intellectuals, to fully shoulder the dual roles of "national affairs and family responsibilities," they need the attention and support of leaders at the departmental and university levels, the mechanisms of the province, and the backing of their colleagues.

At a meeting of female intellectuals and female leaders and managers working in universities and colleges in the province, jointly organized by the Women's Affairs Committee, the Women's Union, and the Provincial Labor Union in early March 2012, the women expressed their aspirations and desires. "We hope that leaders at all levels and in all sectors will create favorable conditions in terms of time, provide financial support, and have policies to promote, appoint, and attract highly qualified female staff..." - Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh Minh, Deputy Head of the Natural Sciences Faculty, Nghe An College of Education, expressed. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Head of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, Vinh Medical University, added: "Every year, the province should organize exchange activities, meetings, and commendations to honor female intellectuals who have made significant contributions and achievements in management and scientific research to encourage and motivate them."

It can be affirmed that the female intellectuals in universities and colleges have made many contributions in their respective fields of work, effectively implementing the "Excellent in national affairs, capable in household affairs" movement and the campaign for civil servants and public employees to be "Loyal, creative, dedicated, and exemplary," researching and applying scientific and technological advancements to serve the socio-economic development requirements of the province. Through various activities, in many forms and at different levels, the female intellectuals are truly exemplary figures participating in achieving the strategic goals of the Party and the State on gender equality.
