(Baonghean) - Showing us the books in the hamlet's legal bookcase, Mr. Vo Van Hieu, Party Secretary of Hamlet 3, Nghi Hop Commune (Nghi Loc) said: This bookcase was built in 2008 and has been maintained until now. During meetings at the hamlet's cultural house, the people of Hamlet 3 take the opportunity to choose for themselves good and suitable books from the legal bookcase to read.

From these books, people can understand more about the Land Law, the Law on Marriage and Family, the Law on Gender Equality and also about science and technology in production and animal husbandry. Especially during the Party congresses at all levels, the policies and directives of the superiors are also of interest to the people. Many concerns about land policies, environmental resources, marriage and family... of the people are answered by specific laws in the law books, so people are very supportive of the building of the bookcase.

To promote the effectiveness of grassroots legal bookcases, the Commune People's Committee assigned the Judicial Committee to regularly inspect the implementation of construction, management and exploitation of legal bookcases every year in hamlets, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of exploiting legal bookcases at the grassroots level.

However, due to limited funding for building bookcases and purchasing legal books, the number of books in the hamlets is still small, not meeting the people's needs for information. In addition, legal documents are constantly amended and supplemented, making it difficult to update or replace to suit the situation, not meeting the needs of the people in time when needed.

According to statistics, the whole commune currently has 14 bookcases, of which 3 are located at the Commune People's Committee and 11 are located at the hamlet cultural houses. The number of books is about 300 to 500 volumes. The books are mainly legal documents directly related to the people and local management activities. In addition, documents guiding the application of technical advances in production, new economic models introduced through books and newspapers have been read by the people and effectively applied in production, contributing to the successful implementation of the local socio-economic development task.

To exploit and promote the effectiveness of the legal bookshelf, every month, the Justice - Civil Status officers of the commune organize the selection and compilation of the content of newly issued legal documents. In particular, legal documents related to life, economy - society are followed by people to broadcast on the commune radio station and printed into many copies to send to the bookshelf for people to learn in the neighborhood meetings.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoi, a judicial officer of Nghi Hop commune, said: "In the coming time, the Commune Judicial Committee will continue to advise the Commune People's Committee on timely support mechanisms to invest in new books, in accordance with the aspirations of the people, especially books on Civil Law, Criminal Law, Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam...".

Building and maintaining a law bookcase at the grassroots level is an effective form of propaganda, dissemination and legal education, contributing to helping officials and people access the law more deeply, conveniently and fully. This is also a propaganda channel that Nghi Hop has continued to promote and expand.
