In the first 9 months of 2014, despite many difficulties, the Nghe An Transport sector has made great efforts and achieved remarkable results. The sector has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to approve many important documents serving the state management work in the transport sector. The transport infrastructure system has been invested and upgraded. The Department of Transport is in charge of 41 projects with a total investment of more than 27,500 billion VND, many transport works are ahead of schedule such as Khe Ang bridge, National Highway 46 railway overpass, many railway overpasses have been started and constructed quickly. Air transport has developed, Vinh airport terminal has been renovated and upgraded; Vinh - Vientiane international flight route has been opened and maintained. The number of passengers at Vinh airport has reached more than 1 million, revenue has reached 45 billion VND; the project to dredge the shipping channel into Cua Lo port has been implemented, ...

In particular, the Department of Transport has made great efforts in directing the clearance of National Highway 1A, ensuring safety and progress in the construction of National Highway 1A. At the meeting, leaders of specialized departments of the Department of Transport raised a number of recommendations and proposals to the provincial leaders on increasing the staff for traffic inspectors, increasing additional funding and decentralizing to better maintain and repair roads; Having specific support policies for the workforce working at the Mobile Vehicle Weight Inspection Station; Arranging capital to repay debts for completed projects and construct new projects, etc.

Representatives of departments and offices under the Department of Transport proposed a number of contents such as proposing to increase staff, increase road maintenance budget, build a specific mechanism for staff at mobile weighing stations, etc.

Leaders of provincial departments, agencies and sectors highly appreciated the efforts of the transport sector in building transport infrastructure, foreign affairs activities, calling for capital sources to invest in transport works, social welfare, strengthening administrative reform, etc.

Concluding the working program, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong highly appreciated the achievements that the transport sector has achieved in the past time. He noted that the progress of some projects is sometimes slow, there are still oversized and overloaded vehicles operating. Currently, it is only concentrated on National Highway 1A, while provincial and district roads have not been implemented, affecting bridge and road projects, causing public outrage; the situation of violations and encroachment on traffic safety corridors has not been completely resolved, although the traffic safety situation on railways and roads has decreased in all 3 criteria, it is still high,...

In the coming time, the Transport sector needs to review and re-evaluate the results of the implementation of the Transport Development Plans and Projects, especially reviewing the tasks set forth in the Resolution of the Congress, in conjunction with the Action Program to implement Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the development of Nghe An province to 2020, to have appropriate adjustment and supplementation solutions, focusing on directing the good implementation of tasks; Focusing on directing the completion of ongoing projects; Urging to speed up the construction progress of central projects deployed in the area such as Vinh Airport, the access channel to Cua Lo Port, coordinating with central ministries and branches to complete the planning of Vinh airport to become an international airport.

Regarding the recommendations of the Department of Transport, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant agencies to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to make a decision.
