(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 9, the Ministry of Health held a conference to deploy health work in 2024. Comrade Le Minh Khai - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

Comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Director of the Department of Health chaired the Nghe An bridge. The bridge was attended by leaders of departments, branches, sectors and medical units in the province.

In 2023, despite many difficulties, healthcare work achieved many positive results in most areas.Healthcare IndustryExceeded 3/3 of the main socio-economic targets assigned by the National Assembly, achieved and exceeded 7/9 specific targets of sectors and fields assigned by the Government.

During the year, the Ministry of Health advised the National Assembly and the Government to promptly remove difficulties in purchasing, licensing the import and circulation of drugs, vaccines, medical supplies and equipment. Many important strategies, plans and projects of the health sector have been developed and completed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled and adjusted from group A infectious disease to group B. Other infectious diseases have been well controlled. Primary health care has been focused on and invested in. Regular medical examination and treatment activities have been restored.

The health sector has promoted the implementation of satellite hospital projects, family doctor projects, remote medical examination and treatment, line guidance, and technology transfer; the satisfaction rate of people with medical services is over 90%.

Activities of managing the health of the whole population; taking care of the health of the elderly, children, and workers are promoted. The number of people participating in health insurance continues to expand. Population work, food safety, medical environment management, training and development of medical human resources, application of science and technology, digital transformation of health care... continue to be focused on.

At the conference, representatives of provincial and municipal leaders reported on the results achieved and pointed out difficulties and obstacles; discussed solutions to effectively implement health work in 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai suggested: In 2024, the health sector will continue to improve institutions, policies and mechanisms; continue to focus on solving the shortage of drugs, medical supplies and equipment, and promptly and fully meet the demand for vaccines...

The sector needs to focus on effectively controlling epidemics; enhancing the ability to analyze and forecast, proactively developing effective response scenarios for possible epidemic situations; improving the capacity to treat non-communicable diseases and injuries; ensuring food safety, especially during the Lunar New Year.

Focus on improving the quality of medical services at all levels; continue to implement administrative reforms associated with digital transformation; consolidate and rearrange the organizational structure of units towards streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency; urgently complete and deploy the planning of the medical facility network for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Implementing the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Health, in 2024, Nghe An Health Sector will continue to focus on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, developing specialized and grassroots healthcare in parallel. Along with that, the sector will improve medical ethics, aiming at the satisfaction of patients and their families; building "green - clean - beautiful" medical facilities, meeting the increasing needs of people for health care and protection.
