Further develop enterprises to achieve national brands

President Truong Tan Sang met with leaders of enterprises achieving national brands.

This morning (January 7), at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang met with leaders of enterprises that won the “National Brand” award. These are typical enterprises with achievements in production and business, contributing to the development of the country's economy.

On behalf of the Vietnam National Brand Council and the business community, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang reported to the President on the implementation and results of the National Brand Program.

Through the organization of the annual Brand Forum, many business development support consulting activities, conferences, seminars, and training courses have been organized, helping businesses raise awareness of the importance and enhance their capacity in promoting and protecting product brands.

In 2012, businesses participating in the Program signed contracts worth over 1 billion USD and sales reached 1,300 billion VND.

The selection of product brands achieving National Brand is conducted every two years based on elaborate, methodical and scientific criteria. In the context of the global economy as well as Vietnam facing difficulties and challenges, national brand enterprises have maintained high growth rates in both profits and revenue, especially one enterprise growing up to 207% during this period.

Representatives of 54 enterprises expressed their wishes and desires to accompany the National Brand Program, proposed ideas on brand development strategies, and hoped to receive more attention from the State and support solutions to build a national brand that increasingly meets global criteria and scale as desired and directed by the Party and State leaders.

Speaking at the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the results of the National Brand Council, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other ministries and branches in actively implementing activities to build and promote the image of Vietnam, including the National Brand program.

The President was pleased to see that, in the context of many difficulties in the domestic and world economy, enterprises achieving National Brands still maintained their business and production results, achieving good results in both profit and revenue, contributing to the overall development of the country's economy.

The President emphasized that in the context of strong integration, expanding the market and improving the quality of enterprises' products are of special importance. Therefore, Vietnamese enterprises need to focus on exploiting both domestic and international markets, promoting the tradition of solidarity and sharing experiences among enterprises for development and for the benefit of the community and national interests.

The President suggested that the National Brand Council and the Ministry of Industry and Trade should absorb the proposals and recommendations of businesses and could hold conferences in the regions for businesses to exchange business methods and philosophies so that not only 54 businesses can achieve the National Brand but in the future there must be more.

Besides, the Ministry of Industry and Trade needs to coordinate with ministries and branches to advise on creating favorable conditions in terms of policies and resources for enterprises in general and National Brand enterprises in particular to develop more strongly, contributing positively to the development of the country./.
