Developing Google Glass for Autistic Children

A team of experts at Stanford University (SU) has just successfully developed a facial recognition software that runs on Google Glass.

The device, which scientists call autism glasses, is currently in the experimental stage and can record and analyze human faces in real time to help children express emotions while communicating and ultimately help them improve their reading ability and social communication skills.

Dennis Wall, who directs research at SU, said that glasses and wearable technology will be powerful tools for the medical industry in the future. In particular, it helps people manage and diagnose neurological disorders and autism better. It gradually replaces traditional treatment methods, using the existing Flashcards technique. Autism glasses can provide a more reasonable and convenient therapy for families when caring for children at home.
