Deepening the relationship between Nghe An and Gifu (Japan)

(Baonghean.vn) - This is the content agreed upon in the working program between leaders of Nghe An province and Gifu (Japan) on the afternoon of February 22 in Vinh city.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of a number of departments and branches of the province.

On the Gifu side, there was Mr. Satoshi Horibe - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Labor and Commerce of Gifu province as head of the delegation and enterprises of the province.

In July 2015, Mr. Hajime Furuta - Governor of Gifu province visited and worked in Nghe An province. In November 2015, a high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province visited and worked in Gifu province, Japan. Here, the leaders of the two provinces signed a Memorandum of Understanding to lay the foundation for cooperation and exchange, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism and investment.

During this visit of the Gifu delegation, Nghe An province proposed a number of issues to promote cooperation between the two provinces. These include organizing annual programs, conferences, and seminars on investment, trade, and tourism promotion; organizing cultural, sports, and tourism exchange programs between the two provinces; cooperation between medical centers and hospitals in Gifu and Nghe An provinces; training links between educational institutions and technology centers of each province; studying the possibility of cooperation in opening Japanese language departments at some universities and colleges in Nghe An; cooperation in the fields of agriculture and health, specifically the exchange of graduate students and interns at educational institutions of each side;...

Comrade Nguyen Hai Duong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs presented a number of proposals to promote cooperation between Nghe An and Gifu provinces (Japan).

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee warmly welcomed the delegation of Gifu province to visit and work in Nghe An province, this is a vivid manifestation and practical result for the relationship between the two sides.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke and suggested that the two provinces quickly specify the areas of cooperation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that after the two provinces signed the Memorandum of Understanding, Nghe An province established a Steering Committee and a working group to implement the contents agreed upon by both sides; at the same time, he suggested that the two provinces need to agree on some specific contents such as: organizing a tourism promotion workshop, specific targets and plans for sending Nghe An interns to Gifu...

In the field of investment, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong also hopes that Gifu province's enterprises will learn about and decide to invest in the province. After this meeting, Nghe An province will concretize the cooperation contents and exchange them through diplomatic channels with Gifu province.

Mr. Satoshi Horibe spoke about some contents that Gifu province has implemented in the cooperation program between the two provinces in recent times.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Satoshi Horibe thanked Nghe An province for the warm welcome given to the delegation, and introduced the initial results of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Gifu province and Nghe An such as: promoting Japan - Vietnam exchange at the parliamentary level, adding Vietnam to the Gifu province Friendship Alliance; establishing the Gifu - Vietnam Friendship Association to further strengthen the relationship between Gifu province and Nghe An in particular, as well as with Vietnam in general...

Regarding the contents discussed in this working session, Mr. Satoshi Horibe said that he will summarize and report to the Governor of Gifu Prefecture as well as relevant departments of the province to propose specific solutions to develop relations between the two provinces.
