Developing raw material areas and enhancing the value of cassava

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 27, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Cassava Association held its first Executive Committee Conference.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - Chairman of Vietnam Cassava Association chaired the conference.

The Cassava Association was established to gather and unite members to protect their legitimate rights and interests, support activities and contribute to socio-economic development. The Association will also be the link between businesses and scientists and managers to develop cassava material areas, apply scientific and technological advances and develop new varieties in developing cassava material areas, and promote the production and business process.

In addition, the Association also cooperates with cassava associations of some countries in the region and the world to promote Vietnam's cassava materials, thereby finding stable output for cassava. Currently, in Vietnam, there are nearly 100 cassava processing factories with an output of 11 million tons, export turnover of more than 1.5 billion USD/year. Participation in the Nghe An Cassava Association will contribute to increasing output, value and creating favorable output for over 19,000 hectares of cassava materials of localities in the whole province. The conference also focused on discussing a number of solutions, directions and tasks in the coming time./.
