(Baonghean.vn) - The patient, Ho Anh Tu (9 months old, in Quynh Luu district), was admitted to Nghe An Children's Hospital on April 10 with a high fever, fussiness, refusal to eat, and an abscess in the anus.

Doctors diagnosed the child with anal fistula and had to perform urgent surgery.

This morning, April 11, doctors successfully performed surgery to remove a piece of bone from the child's intestine.

A piece of bone was removed from Tu's intestine.

Doctor Vu Hung, who directly performed the surgery and treated Ho Anh Tu, said he was very surprised to discover a piece of bone about 2 cm long that had punctured the rectum and created an abscess next to the anus. According to doctor Hung, it is possible that while eating bone porridge, Tu had choked on a bone but the family did not notice.

This is a rare accident that happened to a young child that Nghe An Children's Hospital once received.
