French pilots strike, Vietnam Airlines cancels many flights

Vietnam Airlines said that the strike by pilots of Air France (AF) over the past several days has caused a series of flights to be canceled, including Vietnam Airlines flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to France.

More than 1,000 Vietnam Airlines passengers to France affected by AF pilots strike

The AF pilots' strike started on September 15 and will continue until September 30. AF flights have been canceled en masse, affecting passenger travel, including Vietnam Airlines passengers.

Specifically, codeshare flights between VNA and AF on the route from Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City to Paris (France) as well as connecting flights from Paris to Europe operated by AF.

Accordingly, during the period from September 16 to September 28, 9 flights could not be operated (VN2106 Paris - Ho Chi Minh City on September 16, 18, 25, 27; VN2107 Ho Chi Minh City - Paris on September 17, 19, 22, 26, 28) and 1 flight had to delay its operation time by 24 hours (VN2107 Ho Chi Minh City - Paris on September 21).

The total number of passengers affected on these two flights is more than 1,000, in addition to many other passengers connecting on flights from Paris to Europe. The cancellation of flights in this case is force majeure.

Vietnam Airlines said it is trying to contact AF to get more detailed information about the strike situation and future operating plans in order to deploy appropriate passenger service plans.
