7th session of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the 1992 Constitution
In this 7th session, two major issues that need to be discussed further are local government and the Constitutional Council.
On the morning of August 10, in Hanoi, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Chairman of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the 1992 Constitution, chaired the 7th meeting of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the 1992 Constitution on the basis of receiving comments from National Assembly deputies at the 5th session of the 13th National Assembly.

Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized that Resolution No. 38 of the National Assembly on organizing public opinion gathering has been widely and seriously implemented, attracting active participation and many enthusiastic contributions from the people.
The draft amendment to the Constitution submitted to the National Assembly has been well received and revised, reflecting the will and aspirations of the people.
National Assembly delegates also contributed many opinions to the content of the draft.
Since the 5th session, under the direction of the Standing Committee of the 1992 Constitution Amendment Drafting Committee, the Standing Editorial Board has worked seriously to research, absorb, and revise the 1992 Constitution Amendment Draft based on the opinions of National Assembly deputies.
In this 7th session, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked members of the 1992 Constitution Amendment Drafting Committee to continue analyzing, researching, reviewing and discussing the chapters and provisions in the draft, especially the two major issues that need to be discussed further, which are the issues of local government and the Constitutional Council.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said: “The Constitution is the driving force for development. Therefore, with that spirit, I suggest that each member of the Committee try to improve the sentences, words, articles, and chapters, and spend time to improve both the meaning and the writing so that we can complete the Constitution. Hopefully, when it is presented, it will achieve high consensus from the Politburo and the National Assembly."
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung also pointed out that after this meeting, the Editorial Board and the Standing Editorial Board will continue to edit and seek opinions from members before submitting to the Central Committee and the Politburo the full text of the Draft Amendment to the 1992 Constitution./.
