"The Interview," a comedy about a plot to assassinate North Korean leader, along with "Sex Tape" and "Transformers 4," are three films that have attracted attention in the categories of the awards for worst movies of the year.

The shortlist for the Golden Raspberry Awards has just been announced, including "Worst Picture", "Worst Remake", "Worst Screenplay", "Worst Director", "Worst Actor - Actress", "Worst Supporting Actor" and "Worst Screen Interaction". All three films The Interview, Sex Tape and Transformers: Age of Extinction appeared in multiple categories.

The Interview and Sex Tape are competing with Transformers 4 for Worst Picture and are also nominated in five other categories.

"The Interview" attracted attention for its political theme but was criticized badly by fans.

The Interview, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, has been making waves around the world for its satirical portrayal of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Thanks to the controversy, the film has grossed over $18 million in just one week of online release. However, most audiences and critics have not appreciated this comedy.

The world's most popular film of the year - Transformers: Age of Extinction - by famous director Michael Bay topped all 9 categories, including "Worst Film". Although it achieved high revenue of over 1 billion USD, the film was heavily criticized by fans worldwide, mainly due to the bland script and the ostentatious effects of director Michael Bay. Many fans even played with the name of the 4th installment of Transformers as "Age of Ex-stink-tion".

Sex Tape revolves around a couple's leaked sex tape, which leads to hilarious situations. The film stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. When it was released in North America in July, the film was not a box office success, nor did it win over fans or critics. In its first week of release, the $40 million budgeted film only grossed $15 million.

Cameron Diaz could be a potential contender for Worst Actress, as her roles in both Sex Tape and The Other Woman have been nominated for that category. She is also listed as a Worst Supporting Actress nominee for her role in Annie.

Another work that “stands out” because it “conquers” many nominations is the Western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, directed by comedian Seth MacFarlane and starring Charlize Theron. In addition to the list of nominees for “Worst Picture,” this work was also ranked in the categories of “Worst Screenplay” and “Worst Screen Interaction” for MacFarlane and Theron, along with many other awards.

The Expendables 3, which features a cast of veteran action stars from Europe, America, and Asia, also appears on many lists. All of the film's actors, including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and Jet Li, were nominated for "Worst Screen Interaction."

Gold Derby is also opening voting for the official Razzie shortlist from now until January 10. The official nominations will be announced on January 14. The Razzie Awards will have a ceremony to announce the results on February 21, the day before the Oscars.

Established in 1989, the Razzie Awards are a mockery of bland or mediocre Hollywood films and actors. Typically, no artist or director wants to be on the Razzie list. The recipients are presented with a $5 gold-painted plastic raspberry model.
