The film "Pain is not for anyone" won an international award

The film is a heartbreaking story of three Vietnamese families.Malehave children injured and killed in motorcycle accidents.

The documentary “No One’s Pain” produced by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIP) has just won the award for Best Film at the 2013 Global Road Safety Film Festival. The film was screened and awarded at the UNESCO headquarters inParis, France.

The film is a heartbreaking story of three Vietnamese families.Malewhose children have been injured or killed in motorcycle accidents. The film was produced for the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in November 2012. It is currently being aired as part of the Children Must Wear Helmets campaign.

Global Road Safety Campaign Ambassador and film star Michelle Yeoh presented the award to AIP Foundation CEO Mirjam Sidik on May 7 at a United Nations-led Global Road Safety Week event in St Petersburg, Russia.

“Road crashes are the leading cause of death for young people worldwide, yet they are not adequately protected,” said Mirjam Sidik, CEO of AIP Foundation. “We also want to thank the families of the victims for sharing their stories for the documentary to help wake others up from their grief.”

Another AIP Foundation helmet awareness film, “Always Care, Always Wear a Helmet,” also won third place in the Media category. The film reminds Cambodians that putting a helmet on a motorbike passenger is a simple act of care. It is one of the everyday gestures of caring for loved ones. About 3.4 million Cambodians have watched the documentary./.
