Global Road Safety Campaign Ambassador and film star Michelle Yeoh presented the award to AIP Foundation CEO Mirjam Sidik on May 7 at a United Nations-led Global Road Safety Week event in St Petersburg, Russia.
“Road crashes are the leading cause of death for young people worldwide, yet they are not adequately protected,” said Mirjam Sidik, CEO of AIP Foundation. “We also want to thank the families of the victims for sharing their stories for this documentary to help warn others from their grief.”
Another AIP Foundation helmet awareness film, “Always Care, Always Wear a Helmet,” also won third place in the Media category. The film reminds Cambodians that putting a helmet on a passenger on a motorbike is a simple act of caring. It is one of the everyday gestures of caring for loved ones.
