The film is produced by the Central Documentary-Scientific Film Studio, starting filming in early 2015.
Deputy General Director of the Central Documentary-Scientific Film Studio, General Director of the film Dao Thanh Tung, said that as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Nguyen Van Linh's birth, the 40-minute film is a harmonious combination of historical documents and the group of authors' emotions towards one of the Party's outstanding leaders.
The film tells the story of the life, background, and career of Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, set in the historical context of the entire nation, the revolution for national independence, the process of building the country... It emphasizes the time when he was imprisoned twice in Con Dao, the "renovation" period as well as his five times becoming Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (formerly Secretary of the Saigon-Cho Lon Regional Party Committee, Secretary of the Saigon-Gia Dinh Regional Party Committee).
To make the film lively and attractive, with a carefully invested script, the film crew of director Pham Hong Thang - one of the famous directors of Vietnamese documentary cinema, spent a lot of time searching and collecting materials. The materials in the film were gathered from the Archives of the Central Party Office, Nhan Dan Newspaper, the family of the late General Secretary, Ho Chi Minh City Museum, books and newspapers...
Interviews with the late Minister of Home Affairs Mai Chi Tho, the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, Mrs. Ngo Thi Hue (wife of the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh)... and also interviews with General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh himself are interspersed with historical images and documents...
The film was made in three months and will be shown on Vietnam Television, at exhibitions and seminars about the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh in Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, etc. from July 1./.
