Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission: "Anti-corruption will still be "fiery"
Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc said that the spirit of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption (CAC) is to continue to be resolute, because "if people have trust, we have everything".
Speaking before the National Assembly to discuss reports on corruption and crime prevention, on the morning of November 13, delegate Nguyen Thai Hoc - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission emphasized that despite many difficulties and challenges and complicated developments, the activities of judicial agencies have achieved important results in many aspects, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety.
However, the Phu Yen delegation also mentioned “two different moods of the people from two numbers”. The data on detecting and handling violations and corruption increased by 30.35%, making people excited and confident. However, the crime rate among teenagers and child rape of over 30% made people worried and upset.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, a few years ago, the corruption situation was assessed as serious, occurring in many fields, at many levels, and in many sectors, threatening the survival of the regime. Realizing the above situation, the whole system took action with a resolute spirit, with no forbidden areas, no exceptions, regardless of who was in office or retired, clarifying and handling it as soon as it was clarified, not being perfectionist, not waiting, then investigating and handling it further. Closely coordinating all stages from inspection, investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of sentences.
The results are only the beginning and there is still much to be done, but the spirit of saying what you do and fighting corruption has become an inevitable trend. The Government's report stated that corruption is being contained, gradually pushed back and on the decline.
“At the recent meeting of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, the General Secretary, President and Head of the Steering Committee raised the question and concern of voters: with the current high spirit of fighting against corruption, will it be maintained in the coming time? The comrades in the Steering Committee all affirmed that the spirit of determination and resoluteness in the coming time is very fiery and this spirit will be maintained. When people are excited and confident, the anti-corruption work will spread widely. If people have confidence, we have everything,” said the Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee.
Regarding the statistics of juvenile crimes and child rape, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc emphasized the concern because juveniles are considered the backbone of the country, so an increase of over 30% is worrying. It is worth noting that of the total number of juvenile offenders, 60% are aged 16-18, and children are sexually abused by relatives, more than 21% of whom are people they trust.
“There are many reasons, but we need to look directly at the reality that some Party committees, authorities, and agencies are concerned but not yet determined. The authorities have taken action but it is not synchronous and has not become a trend. There are still many people and organizations who are indifferent, apathetic, stand aside, and lack responsibility for the crime situation among teenagers” - the Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee emphasized and suggested that the Resolution of the National Assembly should emphasize the fight to prevent crime among teenagers, prevent child rape so that youth can develop healthily, so that children are innocent and carefree in the development process./.
