Deputy of the district organizing committee admitted to using a fake university degree.

The female deputy head of the district party committee in Gia Lai had to pay back some subjects during her studies, so she could not graduate. She asked a friend to introduce her to buy a university degree to legitimize her documents.

Recently, many people reported that Ms. Kpa Loan - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Phu Thien District Party Committee (Gia Lai Province) - falsified her qualifications in her profile and resume to be considered for recruitment as a cadre. Accordingly, Ms. Loan did not graduate from university and did not have a degree. However, she was classified as a specialist and appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Party Organization Committee after many years of work.

Talking to reporters about this issue, Ms. Loan admitted that she had not graduated from university. According to the Deputy Organizing Committee, she had studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences, school year 1996 - 2004. However, she still owed some subjects so she did not graduate.

“During my time at school, I met some friends and they recommended me to buy a fake university degree,” Ms. Loan admitted. She added that she was busy with work so she later returned to school to pay off her debt and get a degree, but the school board said the deadline had passed and canceled the results.

“I knew that using a fake diploma would be exposed. I accept full responsibility and the disciplinary action from the agency,” Ms. Loan said.

Mr. Tran Cong Hoan, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Phu Thien district, said that recently the unit received many letters from citizens accusing Ms. Loan of using a fake university degree and falsifying her personal history.

According to Mr. Hoan, the initial inspection process of the Inspection Committee verified that the content of the complaint was well-founded. “Early next week, the Committee will hold a meeting to inform all employees and officials in the agency about the incident, and at the same time consider the responsibility of Ms. Loan,” Mr. Hoan informed.

Mr. Phan Van Thai, Deputy Head of the Gia Lai Provincial Inspection Committee, said that in the case of officials using fake diplomas, the Phu Thien District Inspection Committee is responsible for inspection and verification.

In case Ms. Loan is indeed using a fake diploma, the authority to handle the case belongs to the district level. In the process of considering and handling any remaining issues, the District Inspection Committee will make a report to the Provincial Inspection Committee for timely direction.
