Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong: Concentrating forces on storm prevention and search and rescue support

(Baonghean.vn) - Talking with fishermen at fishing boat shelters, comrade Nguyen Van Thong asked fishermen to comply with the storm prevention plan No. 2 and be ready to support search and rescue.

On the afternoon of July 16, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected the implementation of flood and storm prevention plans - search and rescue, and preparation of forces and means to respond to storm No. 2 in Quynh Thuan and Son Hai communes, Quynh Luu district.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee personally inspected the work of calling on boats to take shelter at Lach Quen and Lach Thoi, grasped information about localities tying up houses and warehouses at some key locations, met with local leaders and fishermen, encouraged and requested people to strictly implement plans to prevent storms and floods and actively support the standing agencies to carry out search, rescue and relief work on the spot.

Representatives of leaders of Quynh Thuan and Son Hai communes, the Military Command of Quynh Luu district, and the district police reported on plans and implementation of preparations, the situation of gathering boats, and response plans when storm No. 2 makes landfall.

Up to this point, the authorities of Quynh Luu district have mobilized 969 ships and boats, 6,765 workers to safe shelters. Of which, 90 vehicles with 842 workers are anchored in the provinces of Thai Binh, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh. In communes and towns, militia platoons are mobilized to guard dikes, dams, and regulate traffic; and on-site forces. Each commune and town has from 100 to 150 militia and self-defense forces ready to help people evacuate people and property. Along with that, mobilize coordinating forces from Brigade 16, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station, ready all kinds of vehicles and materials for on-site rescue and prevention.

Inspecting the places where boats are moored, comrade Nguyen Van Thong requested the standing agencies for storm and flood prevention - search and rescue to concentrate their forces and spirit to serve the people, ready to respond to all plans to minimize the possibility of damage to people and property. Localities need to clearly understand the families with unstable and unsustainable constructions to support people in coping with the impact of storms and floods.

Talking with the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, fishermen at Lach Quen fishing port said that information about storm No. 2 was forecast early so they came ashore to take shelter safely.

According to the forecast of the North Central Hydrometeorological Center, the center of storm No. 2 will be located at 7:00 p.m. on July 16 about 150km east-southeast of the coast of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces, and will gradually move towards the coast of the South Thanh - North Nghe area.

Due to the direct impact of the circulation of storm No. 2, from tonight (July 16), in the coastal areas of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces, there will be strong storm winds of level 8-9.level 10-11. Deep inland, there are strong winds of level 6 - level 8. Waves are 2 - 3 meters high, near the storm center they are 3 - 5 meters high. The sea is very rough./.
