Dissemination of the Law on Consumer Protection and Health Care for the Elderly

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of January 25, in Ha Tinh City, Vinamilk Joint Stock Company coordinated with the Consumer Rights Protection Association and the Elderly Association to organize a workshop to disseminate the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and Health Care for the Elderly.

According to statistics, there are currently about 8.65 million elderly people in our country (accounting for 9.9% of the population) and the population is continuing to age rapidly. This is creating many challenges in terms of socio-economic issues.

At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Huu Toan, former lecturer at Hanoi Medical University, former head of the Nutrition Department at Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, advised the elderly on issues related to protecting and caring for their health.

Doctor Nguyen Huu Toan said that currently, nutritional disorders are common in the elderly; the consequences of nutritional disorders have increased the rate of acute and chronic diseases, increased the rate of complications, reduced life expectancy... Therefore, the nutritional regimen in daily meals plays a very important role in the health of the elderly. According to doctor Toan, the elderly should use milk regularly to supplement all necessary nutrients, because this is a type of "super food" with the most complete nutritional compounds.
