Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan offers incense at Truong Bon historical relic site

(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the visit and work in Nghe An, on the afternoon of September 23, the Central working delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Thi Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, offered incense and flowers at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site.

Attending the incense offering and flower offering ceremony on behalf of the Central leaders were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Chu Van Yem - Deputy Head of the Office of the President; Nguyen Thi Dung - Assistant to the Vice President; Luong Hong Quang - Head of the Department of Emulation and Commendation of the Office of the President and members. On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Truong Bon National Historical Site - where exactly 47 years ago (October 31, 1968), 13 Youth Volunteers of the "Steel Squad", "Suicide Squad" of Company 317 - Youth Volunteers General Team against the US to save the country heroically sacrificed their lives while on duty.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, at the legendary Truong Bon route, the Youth Volunteer Force and local people steadfastly held out amidst the enemy's bombs and bullets, fought bravely, and maintained the important traffic artery with the iron determination of "Living on the bridge and the road, dying steadfastly and bravely". The lives and careers of these brothers and sisters will forever be shining examples for today's and future generations to learn and follow.

The delegation solemnly and respectfully held a memorial ceremony at Truong Bon historical site.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and the Central Trade Union delegation along with provincial leaders offered incense to express their infinite condolences for the sacrifice of the youth of 13 Youth Volunteers for the cause of fighting for national independence and reunification.

After offering flowers and incense at the Memorial House of the Heroic Martyrs of the Youth Volunteers, comrade Nguyen Thi Doan and the delegation planted a memorial tree donated by her in the campus of Truong Bon Historical Site.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Doan - Vice President of the State offered and planted a souvenir tree at the relic site, expressing gratitude and wishing Truong Bon to be more spacious and worthy of the contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.
