Tich Dien - Doi Son Festival is a traditional festival to pray for favorable weather and bountiful crops.

This morning (February 16), the 7th day of the first lunar month, at the fields of Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, the People's Committee of Ha Nam province organized the Tich Dien - Doi Son Festival, a traditional festival of plowing the fields, praying for a year of favorable weather and bountiful crops. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended and offered incense with many local people.

Tich Dien - Doi Son Festival is a traditional festival that has been restored and organized on a large scale by the People's Committee of Ha Nam province in recent years.

In many historical documents and books that remain, in the Spring of the year Dinh Hoi, the 7th year of Thien Phuc (987), King Le Dai Hanh returned to the foot of Doi mountain to hold the first Tich Dien (plowing) ceremony in Vietnamese history, opening a new page in the history of our country's agriculture.

Since then, the Tich Dien Festival has become a beautiful custom performed respectfully and solemnly by the Ly, Tran, Le and Nguyen dynasties. Over thousands of years of history, the Tich Dien Festival has become an important spiritual and cultural activity, a cultural heritage of the nation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, comrade Tran Xuan Loc, Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: “The Tich Dien - Doi Son Festival has truly become a cultural highlight at the beginning of the year that has entered everyone's consciousness, a cultural festival of historical and modern significance. Over the years, from the early spring atmosphere of this festival, Ha Nam farmers have been excited to intensify cultivation, apply science and technology to comprehensively develop agriculture in both cultivation and animal husbandry. In particular, the new rural program has become a widespread movement, attracting all forces to join hands in construction.”

The Tich Dien Festival contains many beautiful customs of the Vietnamese people, not only preserving traditional beauty but also educating the next generation to follow in their ancestors' footsteps to build their homeland and country more and more prosperous. From the King to the farmer, everyone loves work and works diligently on their homeland.

At the end of the festival, an elder in the village, wearing a royal robe, leisurely plows the first furrow, turning over layers of brown, loose soil, promising bountiful harvests and a prosperous, happy life./.
