(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 11, this morning (October 14), comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the provincial working delegation directly inspected a number of weak points.

Present at Vinh Tan dike, before the water on Vinh River receded but at a slow pace, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong requested Vinh City to concentrate forces and urgently build stone embankments in vulnerable areas to prevent erosion in case the water rises again, which will affect the dike.

The delegation inspected the situation at Vuc Mau Lake, Hoang Mai town. Currently, the lake water level this morning is at level 20, within the allowable range and gate number 3 is open to maintain the amount of incoming water equal to the amount of outgoing water.

The upcoming weather is erratic, especially the approaching storm No. 11 which will cause heavy rain, therefore, comrade Dinh Viet Hong directed the Vuc Mau Reservoir Management Board to always monitor the situation, closely supervise to ensure the safety of the dam and downstream areas; be proactive in all situations to minimize natural disasters.

The working group also inspected the situation at Song Sao Lake, Nghia Lam Commune, Nghia Dan District. The lake's useful storage capacity is 51.42 million m³ water.

The mission of Song Sao Lake is to provide irrigation water for 6,200 hectares of rice, vegetable and industrial crop land, and to provide domestic water, serve livestock farming, and improve the ecological environment for the entire beneficiary area of ​​Nghia Dan district and Thai Hoa town.

The water level discharged in recent days at Song Sao Lake is 300m.³/second. The water level is 50cm higher than the safe level. Currently, Song Sao Lake has stopped releasing water, the water level remains stable. In the next 2 days, if storm No. 11 makes landfall, it will continue to release water and 12 households living in the surrounding area will be evacuated.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong praised the spirit of the Song Sao reservoir management board in the work of reasonable water regulation.
