(Baonghean.vn) - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, said that VFF has asked VPF Company to continue discussions with the clubs to make decisions on organization. If the V-League continues to be postponed, the Vietnam National Team will gather early.

According to the original plan, the Vietnamese team will gather in Hanoi right after the LS V-League 2021 ends on August 22.

However, VPF recently announced the cancellation of all plans to organize professional football tournaments in Vietnam due to the Covid-19 epidemic. VPF will announce the competition schedule as soon as possible, after the epidemic situation is stable and has received permission from competent authorities. However, with the current complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, V-League is likely to be postponed for many days, even at risk of being canceled.

VFF Standing Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan said that VFF has asked VPF Company to continue discussions with clubs to soon make decisions on organizing professional tournaments. Based on the plans of professional tournaments, VFF has 2 tentative plans for 2 matches in September.

If the V.League takes place under conditions that allow, the team will gather from August 24. If the tournament cannot take place as expected, the team will gather earlier.

“Based on the specific plan, the VFF will discuss with the authorities, especially the epidemic prevention and control agency, to give the best priority to the players, ensuring that the players have time to practice, maintain their fitness and form. The gap between the away and home matches is very short, only 4 days, so the preparation process is very urgent, it is necessary to ensure scientific calculation and efficiency,” said VFF Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan assessed that the Vietnamese team's qualification for the final round of the 2022 World Cup is both an honor and a big challenge. Therefore, the team needs to be well prepared to focus with the highest spirit of effort, in order to take advantage of this opportunity to continue to improve and enhance their professional level in the coming time, gradually approaching the high level of continental and world football. At the same time, the VFF hopes to take advantage of this opportunity for Vietnamese football to have stable and sustainable development in the coming years.

To prepare for the 2022 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers, the Vietnam U23 team is expected to have the opportunity to train in early August. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam U23 players have not had many opportunities to compete, especially in international matches when they missed the Toulon tournament held in France, with the participation of very strong teams such as Japan, Qatar, France, Russia... To solve this problem, the Vietnam Football Federation has planned to prepare for the Vietnam U23 team very early, with 2 domestic training sessions at the end of last year and the middle of this year.

According to VFF Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan, the Vietnam U23 team is expected to have two more training sessions to prepare for the 2022 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers. VFF is trying to have the team train and compete in friendly matches abroad. This is very important in terms of expertise to help the team successfully complete the qualifying round to qualify for the 2022 AFC U23 Championship.

In the coming time, the VFF, together with head coach Park Hang-seo and professional departments, will continue to discuss to build a thorough preparation plan for the Vietnam U23 team. Good preparation is the key to success./.
