Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic visits Vietnam

On the afternoon of March 22, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, who is on a working visit to our country.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Vietnam's consistent policy is to work with the Czech Republic to find every way to continue to promote more strongly and effectively the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields, especially politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, tourism, education - training, defense, security, etc.


Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hopes that the Czech Republic will support Vietnam in expanding its cooperative relations with EU countries; and hopes that the Czech Republic will create conditions for the Vietnamese community studying, living and working in the Czech Republic to have a stable and developing life, as well as increase the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students to study in the Czech Republic; and at the same time, affirm Vietnam's stance of supporting the Czech Republic in expanding its cooperative relations with ASEAN countries.


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg said that Vietnam and the Czech Republic share a valuable asset, which is the large Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic. This is an important bridge of friendship to promote multifaceted cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples. The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic are very friendly, hard-working, creative people and always exemplary in complying with the policies of the host country.


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg also affirmed that the Czech Republic will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to have a stable life, affirming the Czech Republic's strong support for Vietnam in strengthening and expanding cooperation with EU countries.


Earlier, on the morning of March 22, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held talks with Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg. After the talks, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister signed a protocol amending the Vietnam-Czech Republic Air Transport Agreement.
