On the afternoon of June 18, the Lao Deputy Prime Minister visited and worked with the Military Region 4 Command.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong - Commander of the Military Region; Major General Vo Van Viet - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region, together with heads of the Command and agencies of the Military Region received and worked with the Lao Deputy Prime Minister.

On behalf of the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 4, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong - Commander of the Military Region reported to the Lao Deputy Prime Minister some outstanding results of the Military Region's armed forces in the first 6 months of 2013 regarding training tasks, combat readiness, building discipline, building defense zones; Party work, political work, logistics, technical work and the task of helping Laos.



Commander of Military Region 4 presented gifts and congratulated the Lao Deputy Prime Minister on his visit and work with Military Region 4.

The Commander of the Military Region emphasized: With the attention, direction and support of the leaders of the Party, State, local Party committees and authorities and the people of the Lao ethnic groups, the forces of Military Region 4 have successfully completed the task of helping the Lao People's Friend build 4 clusters of villages in the 2 provinces of Vientiane and Xieng Khouang. Up to now, the units of the Military Region have completed over 80% of the items and projects. The task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos has achieved good results. In the dry season of 2012 - 2013, 6 collection teams of Military Region 4 searched for and brought back to Vietnam 387 graves of martyrs. The production and business activities of the units of Coecco Corporation in the provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic are relatively favorable and effective.

Deputy Prime Minister Duong Chay Phi Chit congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements of the Military Region 4's armed forces in the past time. In particular, he acknowledged the enthusiastic, responsible and effective support of Military Region 4 in participating in building the hamlet clusters. Currently, in the hamlet clusters, agricultural development models have been transferred by Military Region units to local people for effective implementation, and the security, political situation, and social order and safety in the 4 hamlet clusters are basically stable.

The Lao Deputy Prime Minister promised to continue to pay attention to and direct all levels to help the forces of the Military Region continue to effectively carry out the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains, especially in remote, isolated and extremely difficult areas. Continue to create all favorable conditions for the forces of the Military Region to complete the task of helping the Lao side build clusters and produce and do business effectively. Deputy Prime Minister Duong Chay Phi Chit also requested the Military Region 4 Command to monitor and direct the forces, units and localities to strengthen coordination with the units and localities of the Lao side on the border, regularly exchange and grasp the situation, do a good job of propaganda, combat illegal migration, drug trafficking and other illegal goods as prescribed by the two countries.
