Overview of the working session
Before working with the leaders of Nghe An province, the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation visited and inspected a number of projects and units. At Cua Lo, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the construction progress of Vinh Boulevard - Cua Lo Town. The Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard project has a length of 10.8km, with a total investment of VND 2,900 billion in phase 1. The project is focusing on site clearance along the entire route and investing in foundations to prepare the section from Cua Lo to Vinh.
Next, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai visited Cua Lo Port, checking the inadequate situation of the waterway due to sedimentation, which did not ensure the depth for 10,000-ton ships to enter and exit the port. Visiting BSE Electronic Components Manufacturing Company Limited (in Nam Cam Industrial Park), the Deputy Prime Minister was excited that the Korean enterprise had quickly implemented the project and created stable jobs for 700 workers, and expected to attract 4,000 workers by the end of 2013.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong reported on the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months of the year and some proposals and recommendations of the province to the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation. Accordingly, despite the difficult conditions, with the efforts of all levels and sectors, the economic growth rate in the first 6 months of the year reached 5.42%, of which agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 4.33%; construction industry increased by 2.36%; services increased by 8.35%. There were many advances in social culture, national defense and security were maintained.
Nghe An proposed to the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation the following issues: Solving electricity for 18 communes without electricity; adjusting the capacity of Do Luong Cement Factory, adjusting the completion stage of Hoang Mai 2 Cement Factory; recommendations related to the Quynh Lap Power Plant project; prioritizing capital allocation for the construction of a number of key irrigation and traffic works such as: Ban Mong irrigation, project to prevent salinity and keep fresh water on Lam River, project to clear slow flood areas in the 5 South (Nam Dan), Bich Hao (Thanh Chuong)... For the transportation sector: Vinh-Cua Lo Boulevard, dredging Cua Lo Port, upgrading National Highway 15A, upgrading Vinh airport...

At the working session, after listening to the opinions of ministries and branches, the Deputy Prime Minister concluded and commended the efforts of the whole province to achieve results in implementing the socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of the year; the economy shifted towards progress, well controlled market issues, fought inflation; the new rural construction program had good results; education and training continued to be the center of the North Central region with high results... The Deputy Prime Minister shared the common difficulties of the province in the condition of no large investment projects, weak investment attraction, difficulties due to the large area and large social issues...

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the province needs to prepare mentally, with resources and programs to implement well after the Politburo has issued a Resolution on Nghe An; it is necessary to create conditions to remove difficulties for businesses, promote investment attraction, especially investment in areas where the province has many advantages; pay attention to promoting business development; attract capital and social resources to invest in social development; it is necessary to pay attention to improving the quality of human resources.
