Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc holds talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar

Within the framework of his official visit to Qatar, on December 14, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had talks with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Government and people of Qatar for the warm and thoughtful reception of the Vietnamese Government High-Level Delegation, and for their active support in organizing the "Vietnam Days in Qatar".

At the talks, the two sides informed each other about the political, economic and social situation of each country, reviewed the main features of the bilateral relationship and exchanged specific measures to develop multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar.

Politically, the two sides agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud expressed Qatar's wish to soon welcome President Truong Tan Sang on an official visit to Qatar.

The two sides affirmed to continue to coordinate and support each other at international and multilateral forums. Qatar affirmed that it will actively consider supporting Vietnam's candidacy for UN mechanisms in the coming time.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation in the legal field between the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and Qatar.

In terms of economy, the two sides affirmed their determination to increase bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion USD in the coming years; promote the effective implementation of financial and banking cooperation agreements and committed investment projects; strive to create optimal conditions for each other to promote bilateral trade exchanges and investment in areas such as transport infrastructure, energy, agriculture, etc.; support businesses of both sides to participate in fairs, exhibitions and market research, and conduct investment and business activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that Qatar prioritize increasing the number of Vietnamese workers coming to work in Qatar, especially in the context of Qatar hosting the 2022 World Cup.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud to visit Vietnam. The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister thanked him and happily accepted the invitation.

On this occasion, the two Deputy Prime Ministers witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation in the legal field between the two countries' Ministries of Justice.
