“That’s very important. We know that Vietnam was ready to help us in the early stages of the pandemic, by sending protective equipment and other support,” the US Vice President said, referring to Vietnam’s support when the US was severely affected by Covid-19 in April 2020.

Previously, Ms. Kamala Harris announced that the US would provide Vietnam with 1 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total number of US vaccines provided to Vietnam to 6 million doses.

The US delivered 500,000 doses of vaccine to Ho Chi Minh City on August 25. 270,000 doses were delivered to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology on the morning of August 26. The third batch of 270,000 doses will be delivered to Hanoi on August 26.

On the afternoon of August 26, Ms. Harris chaired a press conference in Hanoi, concluding her 3-day visit to Vietnam./.
