Coordinate well to ensure national security, social order and safety and national defense tasks

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 9, 2014, in Hanoi, an online conference was held on the implementation of Decree No. 77/2010/ND-CP of the Government on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense in performing the tasks of protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety and national defense tasks in 2013.

Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense co-chaired the conference. Attending the conference at Nghe An bridge were comrade Thai Van Hang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Police Department; representatives of the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Border Guard Command.

The conference heard a report on the results of the coordination of activities in 2013 between the two forces of the Public Security and the Army according to the Government's Decree. In the past year, the two forces have coordinated well in exchanging information, checking and verifying information in each locality; coordinated in implementing mass mobilization work, especially in key areas and remote and mountainous border areas; performed well in national defense and security education; at the same time coordinated in fighting against all types of crimes and coordinated in protecting national border sovereignty...

Based on the report, the points of contact had many comments and assessments clarifying the characteristics, situation and difficulties of localities in implementing the task of coordinating activities between the two forces. In Nghe An, in 2013, the two forces coordinated well to perform the assigned tasks; firmly protect national security and sovereignty, maintain political stability, social order and safety. In the first quarter of 2013, the Public Security, Military and Border Guard of Nghe An province closely coordinated to effectively implement Decree 77 of the Prime Minister on the Regulations on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense to protect national security and social order and safety. Based on their functions and tasks, the three forces promptly advised local Party committees and authorities to effectively resolve incidents at the grassroots level, ensuring the maintenance and stability of national defense and security.

Therefore, in the past time, the forces have coordinated to detect, combat, investigate and clarify hundreds of cases related to national security and social order and safety... In addition, the Police and the Army also regularly perform well the State management of national security and order, immigration according to the provisions of law, effectively implement the Law on Residence; regularly coordinate to well implement training tasks, organize drills from the province to the grassroots according to the assigned functions and tasks.

At the Conference, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Van Hieu and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense Do Ba Ty highly appreciated the close and effective coordination between the Army and Police forces in the recent past. At the same time, they hoped that in the coming time, the two forces of the Police and Army would effectively implement plans and projects to ensure political security, social order and safety, coordinate well in advising local Party committees and authorities to effectively perform national defense and security tasks, link the national defense posture with the people's security posture, ensure security and order in strategic areas, fight and defeat all sabotage plots of hostile forces and criminals, maintain political stability and social order and safety.
