(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 7, the People's Committee of Que Phong district coordinated with the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province to organize a conference to review the situation and implementation results of steps 1 and 2 of Plan 678/KHLN-BCHBP-UBND dated October 24, 2013 of the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province and the People's Committee of Que Phong district on coordinating to resolve the complicated situation of drugs on the Vietnam - Laos border (Plan 678).

Attending and directing the conference were comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Colonel Le Nhu Duc - Deputy Director of the Political Department of the Vietnam Border Guard, together with representatives of the leaders of Hua Phan province, the Border Guard of Hua Phan province and the two districts of Muong Quan and Sam To (Laos), the Border Guard of Nghe An province, leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors of Que Phong district, and leaders of 6 border communes of Que Phong district.

Overview of the conference.

Immediately after the Conference on the implementation of Plan 678, the Plan Steering Committee directed and guided the units to promptly develop specific plans to deploy forces, establish steering subcommittees, regularly inspect and urge working groups and related units to closely coordinate with the forces and authorities of 4 border communes and 2 inland communes in the area to organize the dissemination and implementation of contents and measures, comprehensively the current situation and situation of the area. At the same time, synchronously carry out working measures, focus on leading and directing the development and effective implementation of the contents of the plan.

At the conference, leaders of Nghe An Provincial Border Guard and Que Phong District People's Committee requested that forces and authorities at all levels strongly participate in the plan; coordinate with functional forces of neighboring countries to investigate and grasp the basic lines and key subjects of cross-border drug trafficking; carry out in-depth propaganda to make people aware of the harmful effects of drugs, contributing greatly to the fight against drug abuse on the border.
