Coordinating to maintain security and order in the Vietnam - Laos border area

(Baonghean.vn) - On March 21, Thong Thu Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) coordinated with Sam To District Police (Hua Phan Province) and Border Guard Company 216 of Laos to organize a meeting for the first quarter of 2014.

Through the conference, the forces evaluated the results achieved in the coordination work that the two sides signed in the memorandum of understanding on July 19, 2013, regularly exchanged relevant situations on the activities of subjects violating the national border security of each country; coordinated the arrest of 2 cases/2 subjects trafficking and transporting drugs across the border, the evidence seized was 2 heroin cakes, 607 synthetic drug pills, 1 mobile phone, 1 motorbike and 77,000 Lao kip. At the same time, received and handled 2 Vietnamese subjects who went to violate the law and were discovered and arrested by Laos. The two sides also coordinated bilateral patrols in 4 rounds/32 officers and soldiers on each side participating in border control and protection, preventing illegal logging, forest fire prevention, and resolving related issues, contributing to maintaining security and order, peace and friendship on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border.
