Coordination of activities between the Political Department of Military Region 4 and the Women's Union of 6 provinces

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 23, at the Provincial Military Command, a Conference was held to coordinate the direction of activities between the Military Region's Political Department and the Women's Union of 6 North Central provinces for the period 2014-2017.

Attending the event were Major General Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 4, Major Nguyen Thi Luong, Head of the Military Region Women's Committee, along with many representatives of the Women's Union of 6 provinces, leaders and commanders of agencies and units of the Military Region, and officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command.

Implementing the coordination of the signed contents, directing seriously and closely, the activities of the Military Region in the period of 2010-2013 between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the General Department of Politics have achieved many good results. Specifically, regarding the coordination to promote propaganda work to raise awareness for local female cadres and members and officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces on the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, on women's work and gender equality, 12,457 sessions were organized and more than 850 thousand cadres, soldiers and women's members at all levels participated.

Regarding the content: Coordinate in building the national defense, the national defense posture, building the people's armed forces, implementing the military rear policy. Promoting the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", implementing the military rear policy, the local Women's Union and the Military Region's Armed Forces have taken care of 278 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, visited and helped veterans in difficult circumstances with 138.44 billion VND, built 3,164 gratitude houses...; Coordinate in promoting activities to support women in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, building new rural areas, and building happy families.

Over the past years, over 34 thousand poor, disabled, and single women have been helped with 225 working days, hundreds of thousands of seedlings, seedlings of all kinds...; Coordinate to strengthen and improve the quality of activities of local Women's Unions at all levels, Women's Unions in Military Forces units, contributing to the implementation of comprehensive and strong National Defense and Security tasks.
