(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, a working delegation from the Australian Federal Police Liaison Officers' Office led by Major General Chris McDavitt - Head of this Office, came to work with Nghe An Provincial Police on issues related to the illegal immigration of Vietnamese people (including many from Nghe An) to Australia.

Receiving and working with the delegation of the Australian Federal Police Liaison Office were Colonel Nguyen Tien Dan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police and representatives of the professional departments of the Provincial Police.

The two delegations discussed issues related to the situation of Vietnamese people illegally migrating to Australia; agreed on coordinating the exchange of information related to the fight against crimes of organizing others to illegally emigrate to Australia and other contents related to this work.

Major General Chris McDavitt - Chief of the Australian Federal Police Liaison Office acknowledged, appreciated the efforts and congratulated the results in fighting against the crime of organizing others to illegally emigrate to Australia of Nghe An Police.

The two delegations also agreed to continue to coordinate in the coming time to fight with many measures, focusing on promoting propaganda to help people be vigilant against scammers who commit illegal immigration fraud and other violations of the law. The delegation of the Australian Federal Police Liaison Office agreed to support Nghe An Police with some means to fight against this type of crime.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information and situations related to illegal entry into Australia by Vietnamese citizens, including Nghe An people. The Australian Embassy requested the Nghe An Border Guard, with its functions and powers, to promptly detect and prevent illegal immigration routes into Australia.

Representatives of the Nghe An Border Guard affirmed that they will strengthen patrols and controls in the area, at border gates and seaports; at the same time, actively coordinate with relevant levels and sectors to detect and prevent illegal immigration routes to Australia.
