Coordination on inter-reservoir operation procedures in the Ca River basin
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 26, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with leaders of relevant departments, agencies and sectors to coordinate the implementation of the inter-reservoir operation process on the Ca River basin according to Decision No. 1337/QD-TTg dated August 11, 2014 of the Prime Minister. On August 11, 2014, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1337/QD-TTg on the Operation Procedure of the Ca River Basin Inter-Reservoir. To implement this decision, on August 22, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, together with the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, relevant departments, agencies and branches, held a ceremony to announce the Decision on the Operation Procedure of the Ca River Basin Inter-Reservoir. Since the announcement of the decision, the Office of the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command has closely coordinated with the Ban Ve and Khe Bo Hydropower Plants in providing data and reporting on the operation situation; coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to inspect the operation at the two plants... At the same time, drafted a plan to assign specific tasks to relevant units, such as: Office of the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command; North Central Hydrometeorological Station; Director of Ban Ve and Khe Bo Hydropower Joint Stock Company; Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Natural Resources and Environment…

After listening to the speeches of the leaders of relevant departments, agencies and branches and recommendations on difficulties and problems in coordinating the implementation of the inter-reservoir operation process on the Ca River basin according to Decision No. 1337/QD-TTg, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded: This is the first time Nghe An has commanded the flood discharge operation of the Ban Ve and Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoirs, which requires great responsibility, but practical experience is still limited, so the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, agencies and branches need to make great efforts to meet the requirements of the task. The flood discharge operation of the two reservoirs Ban Ve and Khe Bo must ensure safety for the downstream area and ensure electricity for daily life... The North Central Hydrometeorological Station needs to have a plan to simulate the entire flood discharge reservoir system on the Ca River basin and make accurate forecasts to adjust flood discharge for each reservoir during the rainy season. The Standing Office - Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command Committee completes regulations on assigning tasks to relevant units to implement Decision 1337 based on comments from departments, branches, sectors, and districts in the downstream area of the Ca River.
