Public-private health cooperation in tuberculosis prevention and control
That was the topic of the workshop coordinated and technically supported by Nghe An Department of Health in collaboration with PATH and the national tuberculosis program.
Vietnam has achieved the global target for tuberculosis control, but still ranks 12th out of 22 countries with high tuberculosis incidence. The 2009 national tuberculosis survey showed that the large gap between the number of cases and the actual situation is a major challenge for the Public Health Program, as many people often seek health care services at private medical facilities.
At the workshop, delegates exchanged and shared experiences in applying the public-private health cooperation model in detecting and treating tuberculosis in Nghe An, aiming to optimize this cooperation model to be effective in tuberculosis prevention and control.
