That was the topic of the workshop coordinated and technically supported by Nghe An Department of Health in collaboration with PATH and the national tuberculosis program.

Although Vietnam has achieved the global target for TB control, it still ranks 12th among 22 countries with high TB prevalence. The 2009 national TB case survey showed that the large gap between the number of cases and the actual situation is a major challenge for the Public Health Program, as many people often seek health care services at private health facilities.

At the workshop, delegates exchanged and shared experiences in applying the public-private health coordination model in detecting and treating tuberculosis in Nghe An, aiming to optimize this coordination model to be effective in tuberculosis prevention and control.
